A new study suggests Moncton’s airport makes a significant positive impact on the economic health of the region.
The findings of the study were made public on Monday by the Greater Moncton International Airport.
In 2014, the airport reportedly generated $665 million in economic activity and helped create 2,798 local jobs.
That year was also a record-breaking year for the airport, as more than 677,000 travellers passed through — more than all other airports in New Brunswick combined.
The study also looked at other economic offshoots, including businesses that choose to open offices in the area due to the airport’s presence.
More information about the study is available on the airport’s website.
