WINNIPEG – Most Manitobans woke up to fresh snow coating the streets Friday morning and more is expected to fall over the weekend.
Two to five centimetres fell in Winnipeg and surrounding areas Thursday night and into the morning.
Flurries are expected to fall on and off this weekend in the city and much of the province.
In central Manitoba we could see up to eight centimetres fall by the end of Sunday.
In Winnipeg, we could also see up to another eight centimetres by the end of the weekend.
Winnipeggers can expect a low of -12C on Friday, which is the average high for this time of year.
Temperatures could warm up after that though , as we could reach the freezing mark Saturday afternoon with a low of -5C expected in the evening.
There could be blowing snow on Sunday with a high of -6C in the afternoon.
