Winnipeg Jets forward Alex Burmistrov has been slapped with a $2,000 fine by the NHL for diving.
The league announced the supplementary discipline on Thursday under the Diving/Embellishment rule. The event happened in the 3rd period in the Jets win over the Arizona Coyotes on January 26 when Burmistrov drew a tripping penalty on Coyotes defenceman Michael Stone.

It was Burmistrov’s second citation this season which triggered the automatic fine.
Burmistrov, 24, was originally given a warning following an incident on October 27 against the Los Angeles Kings. A 3rd citation would carry a fine of $3,000.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
