Mounties are looking for a young man following an alleged sexual assault in a Surrey neighbourhood on Thursday afternoon.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl, told police when she was walking in the 10200-block of 152 Street on Jan. 28 she noticed a young man following her. The unknown man asked her for directions then grabbed her from behind and began to grope her. Even though the victim resisted and yelled for him to get away, the suspect continued the assault.
The teen then punched the suspect, causing him to flee the scene.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or possibly Filipino male, 17 to 20 years old, 6′ tall with a medium build, facial blemishes, short brown hair and brown eyes set far apart. He was wearing a red or grey and black hoodie with the hood up, black shorts or possibly short pants and black shoes. The suspect, according to police, was well-spoken and had no accent.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
