SASKATOON – Firefighters extinguished a blaze inside a Saskatoon apartment in the Sutherland neighbourhood. The Saskatoon Fire Department was called to 311 Central Ave. just before 9 p.m. CT on Saturday.

Officials said two people were rescued from an adjacent balcony because they were unable to safely evacuate the building due to heavy smoke in the hallways.
