Saskatoon police use Taser to take wanted man into custody

SASKATOON – A Taser was used while taking a wanted man into custody Saturday. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. CT, police received a call regarding a disturbance at a residence in Saskatoon’s College Park neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a 30-year-old man who was wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants.

Police said the suspect became violent as officers attempted to place him under arrest. The conducted energy weapon (CEW) was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody without injury.

MD Ambulance paramedics attended the scene to check on the man’s welfare.

In addition to outstanding warrants, the suspect is also facing charges of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. He is expected to see a justice of the peace Sunday.
