Global joins Easter Seals ambassadors in pajama bowling fundraiser

CALGARY – Some Easter Seals ambassadors joined in a big pajama party at Century Casino Friday afternoon.

It was part of the sixth annual Friends of We Care Bowling Challenge raises about $18,000 -$20,000 every year to help send kids with disabilities to camp.

Many of the kids who had attended Camp Horizon participated in Friday’s event. Some also showed off some impressive bowling skills.

“Especially with my health, it’s really hard to do a sport because I can’t be tackled… so I always wanted to do a sport and [bowling] was a sport I could try,” said Nicole Wuetherick.

The 19-year-old was born with VACTERL association, which primarily has affected her kidney. She has undergone more than 100 surgeries in her life, including a kidney transplant six years ago.

A few Global News personalities also donned their onesies for the big event.

The Global team was one of 18 to take part, which is slightly less than last year.
