Calgary police charge man in Coral Springs drive-by shooting

A 19-year-old Calgary man has been arrested in connection with a December shooting in Coral Springs.

Police said two men were sitting in their car in the 0-100 block of Coral Springs Close N.E. at about 9:50 p.m., when a silver Dodge Caravan stopped near them. A man got out of the van and fired four rounds into the victims’ car before driving off, police said.

“Two other rounds were discovered to have gone into two nearby homes as a result of the shooting,” police said, adding no injuries were reported.

Abdul Amer, 19, is facing two counts of discharging a firearm with intent to injure. He will appear in court on Friday.
