16-year-old boy charged in connection with west-end sexual assault: police

TORONTO — A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in the city’s west end earlier this week.

The alleged incident happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, when the woman was approached by a man in the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Lloyd Manor Road.

Police said the suspect started a conversation with the woman and took her to a secluded area at Winsland Drive and Winterton Drive where she was sexually assaulted.

On Thursday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy and charged him with forcible confinement, sexual assault and assault.

He was scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Thursday and cannot be identified due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
