Police are seeking the public’s help catching three suspects wanted for allegedly breaking into a house boat in East Gwillimbury and fatally shooting a dog.
York Regional Police say the incident happened just after midnight on Oct. 25, 2015 on Sand Road.
It is alleged the three suspects arrived on ATVs, broke into the house boat and shot a male St. Bernard dog named Lowkey.
Police say they arrived to find the wounded animal which was taken to a veterinarian where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities say the dog’s owner was walking his pet earlier in the day when he confronted two intoxicated females who claimed the animal bit one of them while he went into a convenience store with Lowkey tied outside.
It is alleged one of the women said she knew where he lived and threatened to shoot the dog.
Police have released a video showing the suspects arriving on the victim’s property on three ATVs.
Investigators have managed to identify and arrest the woman who made the initial threat.
Jessica Walker, 26, of Thornhill has been charged with one count of uttering threat to kill an animal.
Police say she has not been cooperative and has refused to identify the suspects involved in the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips.
