Logging truck rollover near Merritt proves fatal

UPDATE–RCMP say the driver of a logging truck that rolled near Merritt on Tuesday did not survive the crash.

The truck was southbound on Highway 5A between Princeton and Merritt.

Speed and icy road conditions may have been factors in the crash.

ASPEN GROVE, B.C. – The B.C. Ambulance Service says two ambulances and an air ambulance are on the scene of a logging truck rollover near Merritt.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday on the Pike Mountain Forest Service Road.

A spokesperson says paramedics had yet to leave the scene at 4:30 p.m.
