A Michigan father shot a touching video that captures the moment his 15-year-old son woke up after a successful heart transplant.

In need of a new heart, Trevor Sullivan went under the knife late last year after being diagnosed with severe cardiomyopathy, a disease that affects the heart muscle. The condition reduces the heart’s ability to pump blood.

“I’m so happy,” Sullivan said in the video as tears stream down his face. “I’ve been waiting so long.”

Philip Sullivan, Trevor’s father, told ABC News his son was diagnosed in February 2015 and was added to the heart transplant registry in March.

“We know that it was a younger person it came from, with good muscle tissue, a strong heart,” Philip Sullivan said. “It makes us feel really good that he was able to be saved because it was getting really scary. He was going down the wrong path, until we got the call.”

It wasn’t until last week that Philip Sullivan shared the emotional video on organ charity Gift of Life Michigan’s Facebook page.

“I can breathe again, and talk…I feel amazing,” the teen said in the video. “I’ve never felt so good.”

Since posting, the video has nearly 1.5 million views.

“I really like the video, actually,” Trevor Sullivan told ABC News. “I think it’s really cool and I wish everyone in the world can see it because it really makes a difference. It promotes organ donation and people can see the outcome of it and how happy they really are.”
