People across the U.S. east coast were battered by a winter storm that threatened to break records this weekend.
Washington D.C. received nearly 60 centimetres of snow during the storm that started on Friday.
When the snow finally stopped late Saturday, the white stuff started to fly once again, but this time it was in the form of snowballs.
Hundreds of people took part in an organized snowball fight in Washington DC’s Dupont Circle, organized by The Washington D.C. Snowball Fight Association.
“We provisionally scheduled the main event for Saturday at noon… but it’s pretty obvious that blizzard conditions will make things a tad risky for a big gathering. So we are now aiming for Sunday morning at 10am,” said a posting on the Association’s Facebook page.
As Sunday morning came around, the snow had stopped, the sun was out and conditions were perfect as hundreds of people joined in the fun.
