RCMP say a high risk offender is on the move again and now living in Barrington, Nova Scotia.

Jamie Allen Goreham, age 42, was released from the Calgary Correction Centre in late January after completing his sentence.

Goreham originally moved to Barrington, then to Halifax. Police say he’s back in Barrington again and that he is allowed to move about the province, as long as he notifies them where he is.

“We’re concerned that the offender has a high risk to re-offend and we want to release information to the community where we think he may be planning to reside to make sure the public’s aware of this,” said Cpl. Jennifer Clarke with the Nova Scotia RCMP.

Goreham was serving a sentence for sexual assaults and other offences. His criminal history dates back to 1991. He has been classified as being at high risk to offend. Police also say his victims have included girls under the age of 14.

“The offender has a history of sexual offences particularly involving young females, and his history goes back quite a little bit so we feel it’s important for the public to be aware of this,” said Clarke.

Goreham is on probation for two years, and is under strict conditions. There will be restrictions on any activity involving contact with children under the age of 16, and he must not consume or possess alcohol.

The information was released by RCMP in accordance with the Nova Scotia Release of High Risk Offender Information Protocol.

The RCMP also says that any vigilante activity or unreasonable conduct won’t be tolerated.
