Okanagan wine, beer and spirits paired with meals for restaurant promotion

KELOWNA, B.C. – It’s an annual event to draw diners back after an indulgent holiday season.

Dine Around Thompson Okanagan was launched with a culinary event at Okanagan College Wednesday night, celebrating more than 50 restaurants from Osoyoos to Kamloops that are participating in the promotion.

“Traditionally, this time of year is a slow time for restaurants,” says spokesperson Christina Ferreira. “It gets people in the door of restaurants, it also offers an opportunity for consumers to get out and try menus at restaurants they might not visit frequent. Or try a restaurant for the first time.”

This year, not just B.C. wines will be offered to pair with the special Dine Around menu. Okanagan spirits and beer will be suggested pairings.

“That is something that we added this year partly because there’s such a growing demand and trend now for doing cocktail pairings for your dinner as well as beer pairings,” says Ferreira.

Restaurants may offer $15, $25, $35 or $45 three-course menus during the Dine Around promotion, with more information on their website.

The promotion at participating restaurants ends February 7.
