EDMONTON – Alberta RCMP say a situation in Blackfalds ended peacefully Tuesday night after a home was surrounded while officers dealt with a man considered to be armed and dangerous.
At around 9:30 p.m., RCMP asked people who live in the area of East Point Drive and Parkway Drive to stay inside their homes.
“The immediate residents surrounding the contained residence have all been contacted. All residents in the area of East Point Drive and Parkway Drive are advised to remain inside of their residences until the situation has been resolved,” RCMP said in a media release.
Officers also asked that people stay away from the police activity and not share any of the incident details on social media.
Just after 11:30 p.m., RCMP said the situation had ended peacefully.
Andrew Joseph Snow of Sylvan Lake was taken into custody in relation to outstanding warrants for his arrest for attempted murder.
Blackfalds is located about 18 kilometres north of Red Deer.
