At least 2 foreign tourists injured in attack on Egyptian resort

Gunmen opened fire on an Egyptian hotel frequented by foreign tourists on Friday, according to multiple reports.

At least two foreigners were injured in an attack on Egyptian hotel frequented by tourists on Friday.

Citing local security sources, Reuters reported at least two foreign tourists were injured after gunmen opened fire at the entrance of a hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Hurghada.

The news agency reported the assailants arrived by sea to launch the attack.

However, Egyptian security officials told The Associated Press the suspected militants stabbed and wounded a Danish and a German tourist at the resort.

Policemen opened fire at the attackers, killing one and wounding the other, according to the news agency.

This is the second attack on tourists in Egypt this week. Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for an attack on a tourist bus Thursday.
