Two nearly identical Scottish terriers are together again after one of the dogs helped lead rescuers to the other canine that had become stuck down an embankment according to a WBZ News report.
It started on Tuesday in Orange, Massachusetts when the elderly owner of the two dogs suffered a medical issue. When emergency personnel arrived, the dogs ran out of the house and into the woods.
Police were able to find Jacques, but Annabelle was missing. Then Jacques helped lead them to her.
“He’d bark…he’d come toward me and then he’d run away. And he continued to do this,” said officer Chris Bisceglia of the Orange Police department.
“I got close enough and I ended up hearing the female terrier down the embankment stuck on a downed tree and she was trapped surrounded by water, and it was all ice. A steep embankment so she couldn’t get back up,” he said.
Officials were able to rescue Annabelle and reunite the two best friends. The two dogs are now under the care of animal control.
