Victor Almanza-Martinez was arrested in Pacific Grove, CA on Wednesday after police say he and two other men robbed four people at gunpoint according to a KION News report. They robbed the victims of their valuables and a vehicle they were in.

“There were some conversations between one of the victims and one of the suspects and a suspect took a selfie with one of the victims,” Commander Rory Lakind of the Pacific Grove Police Department said.

Police said the selfie allowed them to track down Almanza-Martinez and make the arrest. He’s now facing robbery, kidnapping, possession of stolen property and other charges.

Police are still searching for the two other suspects according to a KSBW News report.

People in the Lover’s Point Park area say they’re surprised to hear that this happened in their neighbourhood.

“Surprised, when you think of Pacific Grove, especially coming out of Lover’s Point you wouldn’t expect that here,” said Edward Hunter, a resident of the area.

We have friends visiting from out of town and it’s one of the places we come to see the tranquility and beauty of Monterey Bay, so no I wouldn’t expect that here.”
