Parks Canada issues warning after cougar sighting

CALGARY – Parks Canada has issued a cougar warning for the Banff townsite following an encounter with one of the big cats.

The warning was posted online Thursday, and includes the residential areas of Middle Springs and Valley View.

People in those areas are asked to keep a close eye on kids, keep pets on a leash and travel in groups.

Cougars are especially active at dusk and dawn.
