HALIFAX – Foul play is not suspected in the death of missing Bedford man Jonathan Chigier.
Police confirm the teacher, who was 48 at the time of his disappearance, was found dead in his car in Mount Uniacke.

A woman out for a walk found the car covered in snow on a back road in Mount Uniacke on Wednesday.
Chigier went missing on December 19.
Bruce Fisher, a friend, said on December 24 that the disappearance was taking on a toll on the family.
“It’s a mixture of shock and bewilderment. We don’t know where Jonathan is. This is so out of character for him. He has three kids at home, all of whom want their dad back,” he said.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Thursday, the Chigier family asks the public for privacy as they deal with their loss.
“It is with very heavy hearts that we, the family of Jonathan Chigier, announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, brother and son,” the post reads.
The post thanks all those who have helped in the search for Chigier and supported the family through their difficult time.
“Although we are very private people, we do feel an overwhelming need to speak out to take notice and thank with all our hearts those of you who came forward and assisted in the search for Jonathan.”
