TORONTO — Starting Jan. 3, the TTC will be open one hour earlier on Sundays, as part of Mayor John Tory’s promise to make Toronto’s transit network more accessible.

In November, Tory and TTC chair Josh Colle issued an open letter to the TTC board asking them to consider opening up service an hour earlier on Sundays.

The TTC released a statement on Thursday saying the earlier service is one of many service improvements like expansion of overnight service, all-day, everyday service across the city, implementation of 10-minute-or-better service and reduced off-peak crowding on bus and streetcar routes.
