Most popular baby girl names of 2015 in Manitoba a close race

The year is nearly over and the race is close for the most popular name for a baby girl in Manitoba.

The province’s Vital Statistics Agency has the numbers of baby names counted up until Nov 17 and the top baby girl names are only separated by two.

Emma is in the top spot for girls, with 75 babies sharing that same name, followed closely by Olivia with 73. Emily rounds out the top three closely with 72.

For the boys, Liam takes the top spot with 85 followed not too closely by Lucas with 72.

The final list of popular baby names will be ready in February 2016.
