VERNON — Medical marijuana users are taking to the streets of Vernon.
They’re upset with the recent crackdown by Vernon RCMP who threatened to shut-down the city’s five medical marijuana dispensaries more than two weeks ago.
The dispensaries reacted by launching rotating openings — leaving patients scrambling to find their medicine.
Vernon RCMP have not followed through on their threat to shut down the dispensaries but say they’re job is to enforce Canada’s drug laws as they exist today.
Some of the Vernon dispensaries have been operating for more than two years.
A news release issued by MMJ Total Health Care dispensary in Vernon says medical marijuana patients affected by the crackdown will be holding a peaceful march to Vernon City Hall at noon Friday.
