Life brand digital temple thermometers recalled due to inaccurate readings

Shoppers Drug Mart is recalling Life brand Instant Read Digital Temple Thermometers due to some devices displaying temperatures lower than actual body temperatures.

The recall was issued Friday for devices with the model number 057800711568. The thermometers were sold between January 2013 and December 2015.

Health Canada warned that inaccurate body temperature readings may result in the failure of taking medication to reduce a fever, or to seek a medical help.

The devices were sold across Canada and available online. Health Canada advises that those who purchased the product to stop using it and return it to a Shoppers Drug Mart location for replacement.
