CALGARY – Fire officials say three people – a man, woman and child – escaped a fire at a northeast townhouse Friday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Grier Avenue N.E. around 11:30 a.m.
They suggest the fire started in the kitchen. Crews were able to knock the flames down quickly and keep them from spreading to the rest of the house.
Fire officials believe the townhouse is salvageable but the family will need to find temporary accommodations because of toxins left in the air.
It’s unclear what caused the fire.
