Attempted abduction of two young girls sparks RCMP investigation

HALIFAX – The RCMP are investigating a report of a man attempting to lure two young children Thursday morning.

Two young girls, aged 10 and 13, were waiting at a bus stop at the corner of Ashrood Court and Rosewood Lane in Eastern Passage around 6:45 a.m. when they were approached by a man who asked them to get into his truck,

The man, believed to be in his 50s, pulled up next to the girls and asked them if they had seen his black dog.

When the girls responded “no,” he asked them to get into his truck and go to help him find the dog.

The girls said no, as their school bus was coming.

The man drove away.

The man is described as a white male with greyish hair and stubble on his chin. He was wearing a ball cap, blue jeans and a navy sweater.
