Woman escapes early morning house fire in North End

WINNIPEG — It was a scary wake up call after a woman was able to escape a house fire in the city’s North End early Friday morning.

Just before 2:00 a.m., fire crews were called on scene to the 300 block of Mountain Avenue for a house fire.

When crews arrived on scene the house was well involved, and fire fighters had to use ladders to put out the blaze.

Winnipeg Transit took to Twitter to inform drivers Mountain Avenue was not accessible.

No word on what caused blaze.
