RCMP asks for help identifying 2 men after ‘suspicious behaviour’ on Toronto bridge

TORONTO — The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are seeking the identities of two men spotted on a Toronto bridge earlier this summer. Why they are looking to speak with the men remains unknown.

RCMP are investigating the “suspicious behaviour” of two men on a bridge near Toronto’s Rogers Centre in August.

This week’s plea for information comes more than a month after a request for the public’s help on Oct. 14 in identifying two men with no accompanying information on who they were, why police were interested in them or what investigation they were connected to.

Police said someone saw the two men “exhibiting suspicious behaviour” on the John Street Bridge near the Rogers Centre on Aug. 31 at about 3:30 p.m.

“We’re still trying to identify these people and we’ve asked for the public’s assistance back in October and we’re asking again,” RCMP Sgt. Penny Hermann said.

Police said the incident was reported to “private sector partners” at the time who filed a suspicious incident report to the RCMP’s National Critical Infrastructure Team.

These reports usually deal with “suspicious incidents that may be related to national security,” the RCMP said in a release.

Police describe the first man as having brown skin, aged 20 to 30 years old, with a medium build, wearing a green and white striped shirt with red trim, blue jeans, a watch and blue Adidas with yellow laces. Police said he was carrying a backpack and sunglasses.

The second man is described by police as having brown skin, in his 20s with a medium build. He was wearing a blue and yellow striped shirt with purple stripes, dark blue jeans, a watch, blue Puma shoes with yellow laces and sunglasses hanging off of his shirt buttons.

Both men were identified on CCTV footage and the RCMP released photos of them in hopes that the public would identify them.
