If you’re curious to know what Prince George might look like as he grows older, well here’s your chance.
Scientists at the University of Bradford are using new software to predict Prince George’s possibly handsome future.
The university said the software was originally designed to identify terrorists in a crowd, however, professors believe the program can be used to help paint a more accurate portrait of missing children and wanted criminals.
Taking visual cues from the child’s parents, the program can create a more accurate image of the child’s future appearance.
“It’s widely understood that the genes of our parents provide the blueprint for how we look,” University of Bradford, Hassan Ugail said during recent speaking engagement. “Until now, facial aging software has only been able to reliably predict our own future appearance.
“We’ve built on the current range of software packages, adding an extra layer of information into the algorithm,” the university’s professor of visual computing said.

The professor explained the algorithm looks at about 40 facial features to map out the image.
“So what we’ve done in the case of George, we’ve taken his picture and then we’ve actually taken facial features and then aged him,” Ugail explained in an interview with The Mirror. “We’ve also, in some experiments, taken the parental information and then also applied the parental information and aged him as well.”
The university believes the facial predictions offer an 80 per cent rate of accuracy.
“The software is a lot of fun, but there is a serious side to it. It could be used in security applications help authorities create more realistic portraits of wanted criminals, or to help trace missing children and adults,” Ugail said.
