UPDATE: Boucherie Road fire victim may have been murdered

UPDATE: The cause of a West Kelowna woman’s death may have been murder.

Earlier today, RCMP released the name of the woman found dead in a Boucherie Road home last Wednesday.

The house was on fire when the body was discovered.

The victim has been identified as Hazel Delgado Budiongan.

The 37-year-old’s Facebook page indicates she went by the name of Hazel Delgado Costin and is seen posing with a man named Kevin Douglas Costin.

Police say they’re still treating the cause of death and the fire as suspicious.

There are indications that Budiongan may have been the victim of foul play.

An RCMP search warrant left in Budiongan’s van parked at the residence reveals police wanted to search vehicle the day after her body was discovered based on suspicions of arson and murder.

WEST KELOWNA — RCMP have released the name of a woman found dead in a West Kelowna home last week.

She’s been identified as Hazel Delgado Budiongan.

The 37-year-old woman’s body was found in her Boucherie Road home last Wednesday morning. The house was on fire when she was discovered.

Police are treating Budiongan’s death and the fire as suspicious, however, they say her death was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.

Police don’t say what caused her death.

She used the name Hazel Delgado Costin on her Facebook page. It says she was self-employed.

It appears she was married recently, because her last Facebook update was September 14, 2015 posing, in what appears to be a wedding photo with a man named Kevin Douglas Costin.
