Fundraiser to feature familiar Global Okanagan faces

PENTICTON, B.C. – A South Okanagan event is gearing up to help nine local charities while seeing familiar faces take the spotlight on the dance floor.

Global Okanagan reporters Angela Jung and Neetu Garcha are performing together in the OK Tire Snow Ball at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre to help raise money for the South Okanagan Women in Need Society.

“They’ve been paired and matched with a choreographer and then with a non-profit,” says Snow Ball organizer Wendy Goudie. “They’ll be competing a dance that they learned for various levels of prize money for their non-profit.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The competition will see the two pitted against 14 others who also have little dance experience to split up $10,000 for charity.

“It’s pretty intense,” says choreographer Shannon Cote.

“At the end of the night, no matter who the audience votes for as a winner, we’re all going to be raising money for great causes,” says Neetu Garcha. “It’s really a win win, super fun.”

Winners will be chosen through secret ballot by attendees to the event.

Tickets for the Nov 21st event are $95 and can be bought at the South Okanagan Events Centre Box Office or at valleyfirsttix.com.

Global Okanagan will be giving away three pairs of tickets to the Snow Ball in the next two weeks.
