WATCH: Global’s Brendan Parker ‘Bautista bat flips’ his way through sports

CALGARY – It was a night to remember or hard to forget on the Global Calgary sports desk Saturday.

Sports anchor Brendan Parker channelled his inner Jose Bautista Halloween night and the famous bat flip by the Blue Jays baseball player.

Bautista, also known as Joey Bats, crushed a three-run homer in the seventh inning of Game 5 of the ALDS a few weeks ago, putting the Blue Jays ahead of the Texas Rangers 6-3. The 34-year-old outfielder highlighted his handiwork with a monstrous flip of the bat, which was seen around the world. Many fans called it a hall of fame bat flip.

Needless to say, many Global viewers enjoyed Parker’s bat flip almost as much as the real thing.

Some even said Parker ‘won’ Halloween.

Bautista himself even followed Parker on Twitter after the performance.

Parker followed up the 6 p.m. show’s bat flip with an encore in the 11 p.m. sports cast, but his bat flip became more of a bat flop.
