Winnipeg Jets Alexander Burmistrov fined for hit in Sunday’s game

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Jets forward Alexander Burmistrov has been fined for elbowing Minnesota Wild’s Jared Spurgeon in the head during Sunday’s game.

Burmistrov will have to shell out $4,166.67 for the hit – the maximum monetary penalty allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.

The blow happened in the back-half of the second period. Burmistrov delivered the elbow as Spurgeon tried to check him in the corner near the boards. Burmistrov was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for the hit.
