Liberal candidate Dan Vandal has been leading in the polls for some time. He’s been a city councillor and deputy mayor since 1995 but left city hall in October and started campaigning and door knocking right away.

“It’s been a long campaign,” said Vandal, after voting this afternoon, “but we feel really good.”

Late comer to the race was NDP candidate Erin Selby, former NDP MLA and provincial health minister.

“We’re proud of the work we’ve done and now we’re putting it all into pulling the vote,” said Alissa Brand, campaign manager for Selby, “The volunteers are enthusiastic and upbeat.”

Selby spent some time door knocking this morning then had lunch with her daughters.

The Green Party candidate is Glenn Zaretski.
