REGINA – Conservative Tom Lukiwski has been elected in the newly created Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan riding.

Lukiwski was going up against NDP candidate Dustan Hlady, Liberal candidate Perry Juttla, Green Party candidate Shawn Setyo and Rhinoceros candidate Robert Thomas.

The Moose Jaw–Lake Centre–Lanigan riding is a new seat that was created from the rural areas of Blackstrap (which elected Conservative MP Lynne Yelich), Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre (which elected Conservative MP Tom Lukwiski) and Palliser (which elected Conservative MP Ray Boughen).

The new riding’s boundaries is the areas between Saskatoon and Regina on Highway 11. It also includes Moose Jaw and the towns to its immediate southeast, and Highway 16 to Quill Lakes.

MP Tom Lukwiski who ran for the Conservatives in this riding has been an MP since 2004.

Moose Jaw is the largest city in the riding.
