REGINA – Two people in Regina are facing numerous charges after they bear sprayed a police officer and stole a cab.
On Monday night police tried to pull over a vehicle for a missing back license plate in the area of Dewdney Avenue and St. John Street, but the vehicle fled.
The vehicle was found abandoned in the area of 10th Avenue and Lacon Street. In the 1600 block of Lacon Street, police stopped a taxi that was leaving the police perimeter, and the cab had a male and a female passenger.
When police tried to detain the two people in the cab, the male blasted the officer with bear spray, threw the cab driver out of the cab, and drove off.
Police than located the stolen cab in east Regina where it was driving dangerously, including heading into oncoming traffic. Four police cars were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the pair.
28-year-old Chelsea Brooke Colegrave and 20-year-old Aaron Joseph Brass are both facing a slew of charges and will make their first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
Brass is also facing numerous charges from an assault that occurred in Regina on October 1st.
