Missing Hinton travellers found safe and sound

File / Global News

A family that was overdue to arrive in Hinton from Ontario has been located safe after they ended up lost trying to make their way to a wedding on Saturday.

The family of three was scheduled to arrive for a wedding Saturday morning but when they didn’t show up family became concerned.

David Hill and his daughter and son arrived at the Edmonton International Airport and were travelling to Hinton when they lost contact Saturday afternoon.

The last contact the Hill family made was when they phoned to say that they were 90 minutes away in a wooded area but that the main road wasn’t visible.

RCMP said Sunday that the family reported themselves to family and police and that they continued on in their travels safely.

The RCMP is thanking the public for its assistance in helping to locate the missing trio.
