Crime Stoppers: What happened to Sahil Sharma?

Police are still trying to figure out what happened to Sahil Sharma, a 20-year-old international student who disappeared in 2008.

For two years Sharma had been living with his aunt and uncle in Surrey while studying at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He was last seen on surveillance cameras leaving the Kwantlen campus around 6:20 p.m. on November 13, 2008.

That morning Sharma went to school with $4,000 in cash, which he used to pay his tuition fees. He then met with friends and spoke to a career counsellor to plan for the coming semester.

Police said at the time that there was “no indication of anything nefarious,” adding that Sharma had “not been involved in any drug activity.”

At the time, Sharma’s distraught parents travelled from India to ask the public to share any information about what happened to their son. Each day that passes increases the pain for Sharma’s family.
