Noseworthy says the man who was on the bike was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The occupants of the vehicle left the area before police got there.

The accident caused a road closure on 43 Street between 25 Avenue and 30 Avenue.

“[The area] is expected to remain closed for several hours while B.C. Hydro repairs the damage done to the pole and equipment,” says Noseworthy.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area by using alternate travel routes.

Noseworthy says as the investigation into the incident continues police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
