Man tased after early morning fight Wednesday

REGINA – Regina Police used a taser to subdue an uncooperative man on Wednesday morning after a fight.

Police were called Willoughby Crescent where two men were fighting and a third man was standing nearby.

The officer requested assistance, then one of the men became aggressive and would not respond to his questions.

The other man fighting said he believed that the agitated man was intoxicated on drugs.

The officer asked the agitated man to show his hands – but he only showed one hand, keeping the other in his pocket.

Police believed he may have had a weapon and the agitated man was subsequently tased and taken into custody.

It turned out the man was gripping keys in his pocket, and he was arrested for public intoxication.

The man’s name will not be released as this arrest is not a criminal matter.
