An armed and dangerous Alberta man on the run from police for over a week was arrested Tuesday.
Curtis Wesley Augustus, 34, was arrested without incident at a Grande Prairie apartment building.
Augustus is in custody awaiting a bail hearing expected to be set for next week.
Augustus is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, flight from police, dangerous driving and resisting arrest.
Police say officers investigating a firearms complaint in Grande Prairie on Sept. 27 tried to stop a vehicle in a parking lot, but the driver fled.
The ensuing police chase was called off when the suspect reached speeds of more than 200 km/h.
