Breakfast Buzz: How do you feel about a 33rd Street bridge?

SASKATOON – The City of Saskatoon is projecting that our population will double in the next 20-30 years, to the milestone of half-a-million. Part of the city’s growth plan to half-a-million is a new bridge at 33rd Street, over the river to the university, and eventually connecting at Preston Avenue.

The city says a new bridge in this area is necessary so two of the four lanes on University Bridge can eventually be dedicated to bus rapid transit.

Ward 1 Coun. Darren Hill refers to this as the “over-my-dead-body bridge,” and is an active advocate against the strain this will put on the North Park neighbourhood.
