WINNIPEG – The Sisler Spartans won an early season first place showdown in the Winnipeg High School Football League’s Junior Varsity Division. The Spartans defeated the two-time defending champion Vincent Massey Trojans 14-9 at Sisler High School.
Brayden Desjarlais scored the go ahead touchdown for Sisler. Trojans quarterback Cory Tod had the only touchdown for Vincent Massey.
The Spartans improved to a perfect 3-0 to sit alone atop the junior varsity standings. The Trojans suffer their first loss since the 2012 season as they fell to 1-2 on the season, good for second place.
