A man is recovering from a gunshot wound Saturday morning after turning up overnight at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The 36-year-old man was dropped off at the emergency department around 3 a.m. after taking a bullet to the leg.
Surrey RCMP responded immediately, taping off the emergency entrance.
A short time later the man was taken to New Westminster’s Royal Columbian Hospital in an ambulance followed by two squad cars. The man’s injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.
RCMP say early indications suggest the shooting was targeted and that the people involved knew each other. They also say the victim, who is known to police, is not co-operating with the investigation.
