LETHBRIDGE – Preparation is underway for the fast-approaching Skate Canada International 2015, but volunteers are still needed for the event. Lethbridge held the same event in back in 1990.
The event is one of six competitions on the International Skating Union’s Grand Prix and the lead up to the world championships. The best skaters from around the world are hoping to improve their rankings in Lethbridge in effort to compete at the figure skating finals in Barcelona, Spain.
But organizers say more volunteers are needed for this event to be the best it can be. More than 200 volunteers will be asked to help out before and during the four-day event, which is estimated to have a local economic impact of $5.5 million.
The Skate Canada International 2015 competition starts on Oct. 30 and goes until Nov. 1 at the ENMAX Centre.
Tickets are now available at http://www.enmaxcentre.ca.
