A couple from Cameron Parish, Louisiana have been arrested after leaving their one-year-old daughter on a beach by herself while they went jogging naked.
The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office received a phone call Tuesday morning of a young child left alone on a beach with a car located a few miles away, but her parents were nowhere to be found.
Police identified the owner of the vehicle as Cody Bourgeois, the father of the toddler. Bourgeois and his wife, Monique, were found two hours later.
The sheriff of the county’s office said he’s surprised the little girl didn’t go into the water and the incident is a sad situation to see.
The one-year-old girl, who suffered a sunburn and mosquito bites, is now with her grandparents.
Cody and Monique Bourgeois have been charged with child desertion and obscenity, fines that carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail or a $500 fine.
