REVELSTOKE — A rash of car thefts hits Revelstoke this week.

Police say thieves targeted the 700 blocks of Fourth and Fifth Street East between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning.

RCMP say the suspects either broke into vehicles or entered through unlocked doors.

They advise people to lock their vehicles and place valuables either in trunks or at home.

“It is strongly encouraged to keep valuables out of sight from the temptation of car prowlers,” says Cpl. Thomas Blakney.

Blakney says cash, valuables and CD’s were stolen.

A suspect has been arrested and is in police custody.
