Traffic is moving along Highway 1 again after a jack-knifed semi blocked vehicles for several hours.
Drivers heading to the Lower Mainland were forced to wait for several hours because the road was closed to westbound traffic.
Vehicles were forced to stop between Hope and Chilliwack near the Herrling Island exit.
According to police, the diesel truck lost control around one o’clock this morning.
The driver isn’t hurt and no other vehicles were involved, but officials were concerned because fuel was leaking from the truck.
There was no detour for drivers to get around the incident.
The highway re-opened around 4 a.m. this morning. However, the westbound right lane remains closed near Herrling Island exit until 8 a.m. on Thursday because of the diesel spill.
