SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Fire Department says a home in the Silverwood Heights neighbourhood was damaged by lightning Sunday. At 3 a.m., a 911 caller reported that a house was on fire at 515 Neusch Crescent.
Upon arrival, fire crews found there was no active fire and the residents had evacuated the structure.

The fire department says there was obvious damage to the home’s exterior near the power meter. The vinyl siding was also melted and charred.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was a lightning strike. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
No injuries were reported.
